Cheong Soo Pieng: Visions of Southeast Asia (2010)

Books

The layout sought to extend and enhance these qualities of Cheong Soo Pieng's works achieved by the composition of images, text, and ample white space.

The book by National Gallery Singapore is the first effort of its kind to document the work of local pioneering artist Cheong Soo Pieng. Following the project brief to preserve the contemplative and soulful qualities of Cheong’s works, the layout sought to extend and enhance these qualities of his works. This was achieved in terms of the composition of the images and text, and by leaving ample white space. A distinctive graphical feature is the light typeface chosen for the pull-out quotes for a more unannounced nuanced elegance.
