The Making of National Gallery Singapore (2015)

Books

This project demonstrates our practice of designing by distillation when it comes to executing different and diverse concepts across our work.

This publication for National Gallery Singapore documents the developmental process of the large-scale overhaul and restoration of the widely-reputed former City Hall and Supreme Court. Driven by the insight that visitors frequently take along postcards while leaving the gallery, the book was designed to be fronted by a series of 12 individual postcards - six on the front, six at the back - featuring striking silhouettes of the gallery laid over black and white images of the old buildings that invite readers to “unveil” the new building by peeling along the perforated edges of the postcards. This project demonstrates our practice of designing by distillation when it comes to executing different and diverse concepts across our work.
